A revisit for us. The site continues to be very popular and if you know you are going I recommend you book. We arrived by lunchtime and we got a space in the car park with 7 others! You get electric in the car park and excellent WiFi as you are next to the point but it’s a not a pitch. The reception lady then proceeded to have to turn many people away as she just couldn’t fit anymore in. Electric is 3amp so don’t come expecting to use your Kettle. Still good showers, no push buttons, good power shower and hot. The toilet and shower facilities are old but they are cleaned twice a day and they work well...don’t judge the book by the cover. They run the shuttle bus to and from the train station to go to the cinque Terre or portafino. There is a great supermarket just outside the site. Worth noting as you enter and exit the site watch the steep lip from road to site, several campers and caravans caught this lip, swing over and miss it and its not problem. For the cinque terre you buy a return ticket to Monterosso and then get off at Monterosso (1st village) and buy a 5 villages ticket which allows you to travel all day to all villages back and forth as you wish.
Fantastic base to visit the Cinque Terra. Stayed three nights and allocated a site under the trees away from main entrance and road though there was very little traffic. Multiple toilet/shower facilities with the ones near the centre being the more modern. You will need your own toilet paper. Pizza restaurant open with a limited but good choice, if busy you need to book a table to be sure. Small shop keeps the basics and takes orders for fresh bread. Free shuttle to the train station a bonus ask at reception if you need to book a seat. Be patient because multiple trips required if more people than bus can carry. We found staff friendly and helpful. Mini mart a short walk away.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
This was a terraced site with small sloping pitches, need leveling chocks. The toilet block was clean with separate area in showers and lovely hot good pressure showers. There was actually no space at the site when we arrived but the staff were very helpful and allowed us (and 5 other campers/caravans) to park up in the car park, and we still have electric, although the site is only 3amp. They operate a free shuttle to Deiva Marina train station every hour in line with the train times and this allowed us to then access the cinque terre. The access from the A12 is a steep winding road approx 4km long. The facilities were good and the regular trains from Deiva made it very easy to see all 5 villages.
