Always wanted to visit the leaning tower of Pisa? The small-scale city campsite Torre Pendente is the place to be. This camping site is only a 15-minute walk away from this unique sight. You will camp here comfortably on pitches with lots of shade. Adjacent to the restaurant you will find a pool for swimming enthusiasts.
Driving to the camping site, you will travel through the magnificent hilly Tuscan countryside dotted with cypresses. When you get close to the camping site, you will see the leaning tower between the trees from the busy Via Aurelia. The camping site is popular with Dutch guests; some of the receptionists even speak some Dutch. Handy to get information about the region, where there is a lot going on.
Camping in the shade
The city campsite is not very large, but each inch of the camping site is fully utilised. Choose a pitch between large trees or go for a pitch with shade cloth. This way you can enjoy the warm weather without getting sunburnt. The camping pitches are large enough for comfortable camping. An ablution block is always nearby. One of them is a large modern building, which is kept neat and tidy. They are often tiled with marble.
Does the Italian sun shine brightly? Take a refreshing dive in the pool which is not the same depth everywhere. For additional relaxation, you can use the jacuzzi/whirlpool. The swimming pool is located next to the restaurant. Therefore, when you sit on the terrace you can keep an eye on the children in the swimming pool.

Ideal for visit to Pisa, but not a long stay site. Walking distance to main cathedral and leaning tower - 10 minutes, so couldn't be better situated. Pitches may be a little soft if there has been lots of rain, but they infill with stone to ensure you do not get bogged down. Like Siena site, they do not accept ACSI camping card, but if you have "We Love Camping" booklet with voucher you get goid discount depending on season.
Ideal campsite location for Pisa town visit. Nothing more to say and surely not for longer stay. and yes...- bloody moscitos in the evening and night.
Stayed here in May 2017 and after reading some of the reviews expected a poorly maintained campsite with many tight pitches. The reception staff spoke very good English were very friendly and provided excellent information regarding the surrounding area. The site was far better than expected from the reviews and parking was easy for our 6.9 meter unit and there was many much larger units already on site. It really is convenient for seeing Pisa (10 minute walk). Florence (50 minute rail journey) from the station a 5 minutes walk from the site. ( Lucia just 20 minutes away). Discount for ACSI members very good toilets and showers. We will return
Excellant location for Pisa, apart from going through a dingey tunnel. Toilets clean but no cleaned every day, adequate. Restaurant ln site was quite nice although a little expensive. Staff brilliant, so helpful. Pitches need tidying, grass cut also trees need trimming badly. Could easily scratch larger units. Train near, can get to Lucca 15 mins and Florence. Would come here again on way back from our Trip in Italy.
This is the place you are looking for if you want to see leaning tover and Pisa city center. Tower is in walking distance. I see comments abou the not very nice underpass. Welll yes, it is very long and full of graffity but I did not feel I should be scarred at all. Campsite is well organized and staff is very nice and speaks very good English. Bathrooms are large very clean. They have a cool swimming pool with awesome bar. Shop is also there. I can only recomend this site.
If you want to visit Pisa, especially the Leaning Tower, then this site (as you can guess from the name…) is ideal. Very friendly & helpful English speaking reception looks after you very well. Good on site bistro restaurant (pizza mostly). Nice pool. Walking distance to Field of Miracles (including Leaning Tower) and the town itself, though you have to walk through a very dingy and dark underpass; not pleasant late at night.
Pitches are very tight, even for motor homes (we have a caravan) and close together. They have sun shades for high summer. Sloping pitches make life tricky, especially for motorhomes. Reliable electrics but junction boxes look old and battered. Managed to damage my van on protruding tree branches when turning at end of a parking lane on the site so take care when manoeuvring.
Easy location, not far from motorway. Recommended.
Pleasant site, with the obvious benefit of being close to Pisa town, 10 mins walk to Tower, but via a ghastly underpass. Good sanitary facilities, friendly & helpful staff, 20pc discount if staying 3days (in March). Wi-fi available, sun shades to many pitches. We would use site again.
Very nice site. Pleasant, clean and quiet. Ideal for visiting the sights of Pisa. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Nice poolside bar. Close to supermarket and restaurants.
A superb site in a great location. It's large enough to have good facilities but maintains a small site caring approach. The staff are the most accommodating and friendly I have ever met. We spent 11 nights at this site and did not run out of things to do.
The site is located within easy walking distance of the place of miracles, the leaning tower (well worth a visit) and a railway station, making it easy to travel to Lucca and Florence.
There is a pool and an excellent bar that serves food. There is an onsite restaurant that provides takeaway pizza, although service was slow while we were there.
All pitches have electricity and many have shade (needed while were were there min 35 C every day).
There is a good selection of restaurants in Pisa and the beaches of Marina Di Pisa are 30 mins away.
