Camping Appesbach, located on the banks of Lake Wolfgang, one of the warmest lakes in Austria, offers an ideal camping experience in the region of Salzkammergut. The region is known for its mountains, large lakes and its proximity to the city of Salzburg. This medium-size campsite is perfect for fans of the Alps.

Water fun and water sports

The clear blue water of Lake Wolfgang is perfectly suitable for swimming, fishing and various water sports. The campsite has two sunbathing lawns with direct access to the lake, one of which is accessible to dogs. For water sports fans there are facilities for hiring pedal boats, canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, as well as the possibility of taking windsurfing lessons.

Local food and amenities

The campsite restaurant, Båcherls, serves delicious daily meals focused on Austrian dishes such as Wienerschnitzel and Käsespätzle, as well as fresh fish from Lake Wolfgang. There are also vegetarian and vegan options. For home cooks there is a small shop at the campsite with basic essentials and fresh bread daily. St Wolfgang is in the vicinity for more extensive grocery shopping.

Explore the Alps and Salzburg

Camping Appesbach is an excellent starting point for exploring the Alps, with options for walking and outings to nearby lakes such as Attersee and the Mondsee. The region is famous from the film 'The Sound of Music'. Salzburg, the birth city of Mozart, is 45 km away and offers charming little streets, boutiques and the impressive Hohensalzburg Fortress.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Excellent position near the lake were you can swim, paddle or simply enjoy a sunbath.
Clean and enough toilets.
Friendly staff.
Very tasty and varied food with decent prices. Two days a week they are organizing grill based meals with a chef for entire camping.
There are seasonal events, jazz sessions, wellness sessions, etc.
The camp is very clean and has all necessary facilities.
