La Garangeoire castle campsite is a large, friendly campsite close to the Atlantic Ocean. The campsite near St. Julien des Landes has something to offer just about every camper, from horse riding to diving lessons and canoeing to massage. Camp on a spacious camping pitch or in one of the many accommodation units on the expansive site.

A rustic scene

La Garangeoire castle campsite is located at the heart of the French countryside and just 15 kilometres from the Atlantic coast. You can have your feet in the sand or dip your toe in the ocean within twenty minutes (by car), or for fun in the water closer to home, why not check out one of the many lakes that surround the campsite, such as Lac du Jaunay?

As you drive along the long driveway to the campsite, you will see the castle in the distance — through the trees. The grounds contain the castle and its extensive estate of mature forest, grass fields and sandy paths. It's a rustic scene. The site accommodates spacious camping pitches and a variety of accommodation types.

A little charm

The campsite is popular with all manner of holidaymakers, from young families with small children to older children and couples looking to enjoy the countryside. This varied campsite is full of charm and offers something for everyone.

The campsite has a large heated outdoor swimming pool with slides and toddlers' pool plus a heated indoor swimming pool. Diving lessons are arranged in the swimming pools. The campsite also boats a natural swimming pool with sandy beach, plus a lake on the northern edge, which is suitable for fishing and canoeing.

Travelling party: Young couple

Liked - Allocated a caravan pitch which was very shaded and uneven facing back of Eurocamp cabins. Changed to pitch that didn't have water that we'd paid for but at least was near other tourers.
Disliked - Noy being able to use cash and having to scan codes to open bins.

Liked - Vriendelijk personeel, leuk zwembad en lagune, animatie in de avond, leuke speeltuin voor de kinderen, ze bieden veel activiteiten aan (door het slechte weer helaas weinig gebruik van kunnen maken). Handige app waarin ze ook updates zetten over de activiteiten.
Over het algemeen een hele prettige camping.
Disliked - Toiletgebouw werd niet goed schoongemaakt ondanks dat dit 3x ker dag gebeurde (geen zeep bijgevuld, muren en vloer niet schoon vooral herentoilet).
Slecht internet bereik, WiFi over de hele camping zou fijn zijn.
Er wordt verwacht dat er afval wordt gescheiden, waardoor je 4 verschillende dingen moet verzamelen maar is maat 1 punt helemaal bij de uitgang waar je het in kunt leveren. Ook weinig prullenbakken op de camping.

Liked - Fantastic campsite with loads to do for the kids, had a very interesting tour of house and history of the Vendee with owner. Thanks a million.
Disliked - Toilet and shower block was not to our liking.

Liked - Nice campsite. Facilities all very clean and well maintained. Very nice pool complex. Plenty of activities day and night catering for most people. Plenty of nice country walks around the campsite
Disliked - Not a lot to dislike. Not enough staff to cater for the amount of customers in the bar. Site is out in the countryside too far from anything, feeling a bit contained. Everything a little expensive compared to other sites we used with comparable facilities.

Liked - A friendly and fun place for families, especially with young kids but also teens. Plenty to see and do. Lovely location, too!
Disliked - Reception can get very busy at times, leading to lengthy waits, as well as the bar/ice-cream stall.
Take out food was ok but a bit limited.

Liked - Keurige, schone camping met heel veel voorzieningen.
Disliked - Zwembad te klein voor aantal gasten, heel veel Britten, take away eten echt te slecht. Restaurant is naar horen zeggen wel goed. Weinig tieners op de camping.
