You will be camping at a quiet, well-maintained campsite just 300 metres from a beautiful beach on the rugged north coast of Spain. The beautiful city of Santander is within cycling distance. At Virgen del Mar Campsite, you can take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant. A great base from which to explore Cantabria. Hikers and cyclists will find nice routes here and there is a beautiful course nearby for golfers.

Spot in the grass

What really stands out about the site are the many plants and shrubs. All pitches are spacious and neatly laid out on narrow streets. You will have beautiful green grass under your feet. Most camping pitches are not demarcated. Those with large campers should practice caution when driving past the trees. There is a large sanitary building on the campsite that looks neat and is clean. In addition to the touring pitches, the campsite also offers the option to enjoy your holiday in one of the 40 furnished bungalows or mobile homes.

Cooling off

The big advantage at Virgen del Mar Campsite is that you can either swim in the pool or walk 300 metres to the beach and take a dip in the Cantabrian Sea. Just watch out for the rocks and the often strong current there. You also won't want to miss the lookout point at the tip of Isla Virgen del Mar. There are several beautiful beaches a little further away, including Playa de la Arnía and Playa de San Juan de la Canal.

Der Campingplatz liegt nicht weit weg vom Meer, mit schönem großen Strand,Die Stellplätze sind sehr eng,dazwischen sind Bäume, sodass man auch nach oben nicht viel Platz hat.Die Bushaltestelle ist leider ca.1km entfernt

Sehr schöner, ruhiger und gepflegter Platz. Schöner Pool, sauberes Sanitär. Gute Ausgangslage für Santander. Preis /Leistung absolut in Ordnung. Wir waren nicht essen, und haben keine Kinder, daher je nur 1 Stern.

Travelling party: Seniors

Hier wollten wir nur 1 Nacht bleiben, nachdem es uns hier so gut gefiel, buchten wir eine weitere Nacht, auch war das Wetter sehr schön. Das Restaurant hatte leider nur am 1. Abend offen (mangels Gästen), aber unmittelbar am Strand fanden wir auch ein Gasthaus. Die Umgebung war wieder herrlich mit dieser kleinen vorgelagerten Insel, zu der man bei Flut über eine Brücke kam, ansonsten auch über den Strand. Von den dortigen Felsen hatte man wunderschöne Ausblicke auf die kantabrische Küste bis hin nach Santander.
