Small site on the banks of the Rhine. Motorhome pitches small and cramped. Cargo trains and barges surprisingly noisy into late evening. Helpful friendly staff. Lovely beer garden overlooking the river. Showers need a little TLC especially in the ladies. Good cycle path from the site along the river. Easy access to the pretty but quiet town of Oberwesel.
Beautiful setting on the banks of the river. Friendly welcome. The small on-site bar and restaurant is great value.
Toilet facilities are basic and a bit stretched at times.
Great cycling along the river with ferries across to Kaub and from St Goar close by.
Nice site with great views of the Rhine within easy walking distance of Oberwesel. We have stayed here the past 3 years and have found the staff friendly and helpful. Toilet and showers are located in Porta Cabins by the site access and are functional but fairly basic. Wi Fi to pay. Book early (a year in advance) if you want a pitch for the Rhine in Flames celebrations. Nice restaurant in the MarketPlatz Weinhaus Weller great food and friendly english speaking staff. Would we stay again- without a doubt.
A typical smallish site on the bank of the Rhine with limited space between motorhomes. There is ample space however, in front of all vans to view the many movements along the river. The English speaking owners/management were always happy, smiling and very helpful. Wi-Fi internet was available if you were not too far away from the office at 2 euros for 24 hrs. Shops, trains and buses a short walk away. All facilities for motorhomes. Electric 6 wats per day. Washroom always very clean although they are in portacabins.
Friendly, helpful dutch man at reception. Great location overlooking the river. Could exercise the dog at the side of the river. Nice walk into the town and round the old ramparts. Had to pay for wifi (as we did with all the sites we stopped at in Germany). Not very good if you are a light sleeper - there is a train track on both sides of the river with trains running all through the night, plus the sound of the barges.
Very friendly and helpful manager, always ready with a smile. Toilets and showers in Portacabins, oldfashioned but they were spotlessly clean and warm. Pitches were cramped for my 8 metre van and my mover failed, but other campers helped to push/pull it on and off when required. We loved being right on the banks of the Rhine, boats trains and buses to watch all day. Easy walk into town. Supermarkets Lidl and Rewe 250 metres from camp. We ate at the on site open air Bierkeller, food excellent value for money E7.20 each for BBQ pork, potato salad or chips, and the red wine was stunning, so much so, we ordered 12 bottles, the site manager delivered them to our caravan door the day before we left.
While this campground had a lovely position next to the Rhein, it had old, outdated facilities in a shipping container. Only two showers for each gender and an outdoor dirty basin for washing dishes, outside the perimeter of the campground. We were also asked to record our use of electricity, for the first time on ACSI in 5 years of travelling. The worst problem was that WIFI is listed as free in the ACSI guide, whereas there is a substantial charge. When I pointed out the error in the guide to the management, I was very rudely shouted at. The guidelines in ACSI are very clear but the manager couldn't understand that an * without bold means that the service is included in the ACSI charge. I was told at first that the error was ACSI's fault. Then another person said that I had misunderstood. Very uncomfortable experience and very rare for us to have to deal with such rude people.
